Spring Drama Program with Christine Harvey starting in March!!!

Enjoy our performance based drama program for young people ages 6-14!
We will get started the first Monday after March Break (March 19th)
and will have our session end performance in June.

Rehearsals will be from 5:30pm – 8:30pm

We will be performing the world premier of a musical version of:
“ALICE IN WONDERLAND”

put on a session end production for family and friends.

It's always a fun action-packed week, so don't miss it!

Regular hours are from 9am-4pm with extended hours available only upon request. (Extended hours are free and go from 8am-5pm, but you must notify instructors that you are accessing extended hours.)

Please note that sessions are not necessarily cumulative in content. We instead make the effort to customize each session to the needs and interests of students.

Trillio Baroque Ensemble's "Baroquetoberfest"
offers German baroque music, from Telemann to Bach, played on period instruments, along with Oktoberfest foods, such as ham, sausages, potato salad and German-style beer.

Trillio Baroque Ensemble presents our third annual Baroquetoberfest. Our audience will be treated to a most delicious Octoberfest meal including baked ham, Mennnonite sausages from Waterloo, home made mustard, sauerkraut, potato salads, bread, and an assortment of home-made desserts, which in the past have included Apfelstreusel and a rich Schokoladentorten. Trillio Baroque ensemble will serenade the audience on recorders, oboe, bassoon, viola da gamba, and harpsichord. The Baroque giants Bach and Telemann will be heard, along with a piece by Bach's student Krebs, and the infamous Pepusch. The almost unknown composers Meder and Matthes will also make a rare appearance.

After School Programs:

Mondays from March 28th - June 20th (with a performance a weekend in June still to be announced which weekend)

Performance Based Theatre Program for Young People Who Love Theatre!!!
5pm-7pm: Ages 6-17 are welcome to join this fun drama program regardless of drama experience. Young people will have the opportunity to choose a play for performance and work toward that performance in June. Monday night activities will focus around rehearsals, but will also include games and skill work. This program is about young people of varied ability levels pooling their interest in theatre and learning together and from each other.

7pm-9pm: Experienced theatre participants will have the opportunity to work towards Shakespeare performance in June. All participants in this group must have prior experience in theatre. If under the age of 12, must be approved by Christine Harvey before accepted into this program. Monday night activities will focus around rehearsals, but will also include advanced skill work. This program is about young people with experience in theatre advancing their theatre skills.

Cost: 100 dollars for each program or 150 dollars for both.

Trillio

(the early music ensemble at the Upper Canada Academy of Performing Arts)

is presenting an Oktoberfest celebration with a different twist--
a sophisticated, Baroque taste of Oktoberfest.

German baroque music combined with German beer and other taste treats
will give this traditional European festival a unique Kingston flair.


Join us as we explore composers from Telemann to Bach, and delve into the unique brewery tradition in Germany.

Author R.G. Johnston is the writer of Vinland: The Beginning, his first self-published awarding winning historical fiction novel about Eirik the Red's family travelling to Canada. He speaks and teaches about self publishing at local libraries and writing festivals.

He's completing his second book, Vinland: The Ragnarök, scheduled to be released in December of 2010.

Different levels of marketing are assessed depending on the participants comfort level; whatever your level of involvement you'll be encouraged to take advantage of every relationship (business or personal) and to use every encounter to market your book or project.

You don’t have to be a self-published writer to take advantage of the information and practical exercises in this workshop; you're only goal is to want to begin or increase your book sales.

Have you ever wanted to write and don’t know where to start?

Are you out of practice and don’t know how to begin again?

Maybe you’re setting yourself up to fail. Learn how to switch around your approach from not writing, to writing with this practical and gentle approach to get you back into your creative space.

You’ll be guided through introspective exercises that will assist you to identify your hurdles and help you to develop strategies and techniques to workaround those inner obstacles.

Whether you’re a beginning writer or always felt that you had a story to get out into the world, or maybe you want to transition from an amateur to a professional writer, learn the misconceptions that people have about being a writer and learn the practical do’s and don’ts of how to set yourself up to write.
